Ultrasonic Particle Rounding Technology (PRT) is exclusively in-licensed to Prosonix (US 6669122). Used in combination, this process technology and the proven Prosonix Prosonitron^TM process and reactor technology represents an ideal solution to a range of common primary and secondary pharmaceutical manufacturing problems and also helps overcome many of the problems hitherto associated with classical dry milling or micronization.

In addition the judicious application of ultrasound using a Prosonitron configured in a recirculation loop with existing batch crystallizer as shown can lead to remarkable changes in crystal morphology. The technique can lead to improvement in particle features by changing their shape but not necessarily the volume.
