Sonolab-250-systemProsonix Launch New SonoLabTM Laboratory Scale Sonocrystallization Development Suite at CPHI Worldwide 2007 As part of the drive to make commercially viable sonocrystallization solutions easily accessible to the research and development activities, Prosonix [Oxford, UK] have launched a suite of manual, semi-automated, and fully automated sonocrystallization equipment. Sonocrystallizreadation technology allows chemists to control particle size, morphology and polymorphs. This results in higher quality crystalline materials with improved physicochemical properties and formulation performance. Designed for use in our clients own laboratories, these span the full pharmaceutical life cycle from Discovery to Market. The value of the systems is further enhanced when used in conjunction with the unique Tutorial Manual and Training options that are available with each system. The three new systems are: SonoLab™ Discovery - A system ideal for parallel screening activities. SonoLab Discovery introduces development chemists to hands on sonocrystallization and will speed up the evaluation of new compounds at a 50ml scale. SonoLab™ Research - A system with added sophistication perfect for process research. Whether it is small batches, continuous or continuous with recirculation, this equipment has the flexibility to deliver batches of up to 2 litres. SonoLab™ Development - Using a larger reactor, this moves development capabilities forward such that it can be used in conjunction with pilot scale 10 - 20 litre reactors. Together, the SonoLab™ suite provides a very powerful tool for real time in-situ control of nucleation and by manipulation gives the ultimate ground up tailored particle engineering solution. All three systems are based on Prosonix's successful pharmaceutical industrialisation of sonocrystallization and can be linked to on-line analytical techniques such as Raman, FBRM, and turbidity. David Hipkiss, Prosonix CEO commented “The launch of the new SonoLabTM suite is a natural extension of the provision of our unique sonocrystallization solutions which are increasingly being used across scale by the worldwide pharmaceutical industry. Using any of the systems enables a seamless transition into the already proven Prosonitron™ range of commercial scale sonoprocessing reactors. This gives a high degree of assurance that positive results can be readily replicated at commercial scale.”
